Dubai holidays: what to know before you go

When to go

The pleasant season in Dubai runs from October to April: 25–30°C by day, cool evenings, warm sea. December and January are the busiest and priciest — New Year and school holidays. Heat builds from May, and July–August can hit 45°C — but that is exactly when prices drop and hotels get twice cheaper. If you dislike heat, skip those months; travelling with children, spring or autumn is the safest choice.

What makes up the price

The site price already covers flights, the hotel with your chosen board, airport transfers and insurance. The price itself moves with three things: season (cheaper in summer, dearer in winter), the hotel’s location and rating, and how early you book. Deira and Bur Dubai are the most affordable areas; Jumeirah and Marina cost more but sit by the sea. Budget separately for excursions (desert safari, Burj Khalifa), taxis or the metro, and food — 30–50 dollars a day per person is usually enough.

Visa and documents

Uzbek citizens do not need a visa in advance for a tourist trip to the UAE — entry is stamped at the airport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your return. Keep your hotel booking and return ticket to hand: border officers may ask, and the final call is always theirs. Children need their own passport or a birth certificate. Important: rules change — your operator confirms what applies on your dates.

What to see

Burj Khalifa — the world’s tallest building; book the observation deck ahead. The Dubai Mall with its aquarium, and the fountain show in the evening. A desert safari with quad bikes, camels and dinner is what children remember most. Old Deira — spice and gold souks, and a traditional abra across the creek for pennies. Flying from Tashkent

The direct flight from Tashkent to Dubai takes about 3.5 hours, with daily departures. There are also direct flights from Fergana, Samarkand and Namangan — flying from there saves you the trip to Tashkent. The time difference is one hour: 12:00 in Tashkent is 11:00 in Dubai, so there is barely any jet lag.
