When to go

Vietnam is long, so the season differs by region. For Nha Trang and Phu Quoc (south), November to April is best: dry and sunny. May–October brings more rain and lower prices. The north (Hanoi, Ha Long) is cool in winter — not for the beach, but good for sightseeing. Ask your operator about your specific resort when picking dates.

Nha Trang or Phu Quoc

Nha Trang combines a city and a long beach: restaurants, a market, a cable car and island trips — and it is cheaper. Phu Quoc is the island: quieter, cleaner nature, clearer water, newer and pricier hotels, less nightlife. For a young group and activity, Nha Trang; for family and calm, Phu Quoc.

Visa and documents

Vietnam usually requires an e-visa, applied for online. Your operator handles it — they need a passport copy and a photo, and it takes a few days, so start early. Your passport must be valid at least six months beyond your return. Procedures change — your operator confirms the current one.

Money and food

Vietnam is inexpensive: local food 2–4 dollars, restaurants 8–15. The currency is the dong, with many zeros — pay attention when paying. Cash is needed in many places. Fruit and seafood are cheap and fresh. Drink bottled water, and on the street pick the busy stall — the food turns over fast there. 25–40 dollars a day is enough.

Getting there

Tashkent to Vietnam takes one stop and 11–14 hours. Time difference: plus two hours. It is far, so take at least 10 days. Domestic flights are cheap — if you want several cities, your operator will build it into the route.
